WINTHROP UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

T he New York Community Bank Foundation is making a difference in research, education and clinical care for the communities served by Winthrop-University Hospital through its grant to the Hospital's state-of-the-science, Research and Academic Center which opened in early February 2015. The Foundation's grant for education will have a major impact on education and clinical care for children, adults and families whose lives, being affected by diabetes, obesity, and cardiometabolic disorders, will benefit from the bench to bedside research that is the focus of the new Center.

"Winthrop's vision to remain true to its comprehensive full service core while advancing its academic health center continuum of clinical care strengthened by academic training and world class research is being realized through the development of our new Research and Academic Center, and the education, clinical and research programs and practices it will conduct", said Vice President for Development E. Ramone Segree. "This vision and more importantly its realization and impact on individuals, families and the community are occurring through meaningful partnerships with friends and vital organizations such as New York Community Bank Foundation. We are grateful and stronger because of its support", he said.
